Have you ever wondered why don't we always get sick? Well research has found new information to add knowledge of how our immune systems work. Aarhus university has been conducting research and has made new break throughs of how our immune system works. When our body starts to get sick, it sends different signals or signs, for example some people may begin to have a fever, sore muscles and other influenza type symptoms, all of these signs that your immune system is fighting some sort of sickness whether it is viruses or bacteria, it is the same response. This occurs because your immune system and body are forming a chemical called interferon which is supposed to kill/defeat the virus or bacteria causing the sickness. For many years scientists believed that this was the body's first response when attacked by an infection. However, the new research being conducted at Aarhus University has shown that it is in fact not the first response. There is actually an unknown mechanism which begins working before the interferon.
